The successful candidates will join
a phenomenology group on theoretical particle physics, at
the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei.
The group, funded by the Chinese Academy of Science, is
known also as the "100 Talent" project and, it consists of
two full professors and several graduated students (some are
PHDs in the making). Our major interest is on neutrino
physics and field theory. The former covers the entire
spectrum from the theoretical model building to numerical
calculations.

Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Physics. Candidates for the position should have demonstrated research achievements, especially in the areas of laser and atomic physics. Evidence of capability for leadership of a programme of laser research is desirable, and preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated success in research funding. Applicants will be expected to have a teaching record in areas required for the support of the Department's teaching. Applicants must have a PhD in Physics and be committed to excellence in teaching and research. The position is full-time and a confirmation path appointment (similar to US tenure-track). The salary range for a Lecturer is
$45,000 to $55,500 per annum. Appointment will be made at an
appropriate step in these ranges depending on qualifications
and experience.

The Laser Physics and Nonlinear
Optics Group at Otago, in conjunction with Industrial
Research Limited seeks applicants for a Postdoctoral
Research Fellowship. The position is in association with an
ongoing active research programme in solid-state lasers and
nonlinear optics. The postdoc. will be expected to drive
research in solid state dye laser development and to carry
out hyper-Rayleigh scattering measurements on novel organic
molecules. In addition there will be opportunities for
involvement in related laser and nonlinear optics research.
Applicants should have a PhD and must be strongly motivated.
The post will be filled as soon as suitable person is found.
